Project Information

JWDA provided facility assessment, programming, and design services for the renovation and addition to the existing Aviation Maintenance Technology Building at San Diego Community College District’s Miramar College Campus.  The project calls for a complete renovation of the existing 15,000 SF Aviation Maintenance building as well as a 6,000 SF addition consisting of classrooms, faculty offices, and student and guest service areas.  The completed project will include a 10,000 SF shop area for work in the general aviation, airframe and metal working, welding and battery repair, a composite materials lab, paint lab, flight simulator lab, and an aeronautical test cell.  Faculty offices, student toilets, locker rooms, a new classroom and meeting space are also provided.  The addition and renovation will enhance teaching methodology through technology integration and improve overall program delivery.  The project achieved LEED® Gold.
