Westin HIlton Head Island Resort & Spa

JWDA is pleased to announce that work has been completed on the renovation of the Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. A “Grand Renewal Celebration” was held on April 19, 2013. Southwest Value Partners, the new owners of the resort property, welcomed Governor Nikki Haley of South Carolina, State Senator Tom Davis, Mayor Drew Laughlin of the Town of Hilton Head Island and representatives from Starwood Hotels and Resorts to the completely refurbished resort and conference center. Renovation included new bathrooms, finishes and furnishings in the resort’s 416 guestrooms and suites as well as new finishes throughout guestroom corridors and lounge areas. The lobby area was re-structured and re-purposed to include a new “Ingredients” food and beverage outlet, new registration pods for guest check-in, enhanced concierge services and enhanced seating areas providing internet connectivity for guests. The facility’s 30,500 square feet of meeting and conference spaces received new surface treatments, new lighting and state-of-the-art power and data upgrades. The original Barony Bar was converted to meeting space and replaced with a new free-standing open air bar, View 32, overlooking the beach and ocean beyond. The property’s three-meal restaurant, the Carolina Cafè, and the free-standing Oceans Restaurant poolside were reconfigured and refurnished. All existing public restrooms were upgraded to comply with applicable accessibility codes. Site work included new landscaping, hardscape and signage. Design work on the $30 million renovation commenced in February, 2012. The design team included Cole Martinez and Curtis Associates, Interior Design (Marina del Rey), Tharpe Structural Design Group (Savannah) and Robison Engineering (Seattle).
