Weingart Center’s Proposed Expansion

JWDA was retained by Chelsea Investment Corporation and Weingart Center Association for two towers at 6th and South San Pedro Streets in the Skid Row area of downtown Los Angeles. Completion of the project is slated for 2021.
The 12- and 18-story tower development is comprised of 382 studio and 1-bedroom apartments including 378 units of very-low-income housing and 4 manager’s units as well as support space for Weingart Center operations and retail space at the ground floor. Project amenities include classrooms, fitness center, and a shared kitchen facility to serve residents. Several rooftop decks and terraces adorn the building exterior while a central courtyard connects the two towers.
