Civic San Diego Approves Union & Ash Residential Tower

A 36-story residential tower with 395 apartments is coming to Little Italy. Civic San Diego unanimously approved the design in December 2018. JWDA was retained by Trammell Crow Residential to provide full architectural services for the project.
The tower contains a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom units, with 32 of the 395 units set aside for low-income renters. Amenities include 16,600-SF of common outdoor deck, fitness center and a two-story sky lounge and pool deck located at the top of the tower. The sky lounge is a distinguishing element, designed to be highly visible, as it will be one of the tallest buildings downtown. Construction is to begin by end of 2019.
