Unanimous Approval for Weingart Center

Los Angeles City Council unanimously approved entitlements for the Weingart Center to build long-term affordable housing in Skid Row. The 12- and 18-story tower development is comprised of 382 apartments including 278 very-low income units and four manager units; support space for Weingart Center operations; and retail space at the ground floor. Project amenities include classrooms, fitness center, multi-purpose space and a shared kitchen/dining facility to serve residents. Several rooftop decks and terraces adorn the building exterior while a central courtyard connects the two towers. Completion is slated for 2021.
