UCSD and Belmont Village La Jolla Partner on the First-of-its-Kind Living Lab

La Jolla’s newest senior living facility, Belmont Village, has partnered with UCSD’s Center for Healthy Aging and the Stein Institute for Research on Aging to create a living lab on the premises. The grand opening of the living lab comes one year after Belmont Village La Jolla opened its doors. This unique partnership will serve to forward research on aging, in particular, wellness and longevity in older years. Belmont Village La Jolla is reminiscent of a five-star hotel, offering independent living, assisted living, and memory care facilities and high-end services to seniors. The 180-key apartment tower boasts magnificent views of the quintessential California mountainscape with amenities including a professionally managed fitness center, a full-service salon and spa, a private screening room, an arts & crafts studio, a bistro for casual dining, a full-service dining room, and an outdoor swimming pool, fireplace, and entertainment area.
JWDA was retained to provide full architectural services on the project by joint venture team Belmont Senior Living and Greystar.
