The San Diego Business Journal’s 2022 CRE Awards Honors St. Teresa of Calcutta Villa and 525 Olive with Project of the Year

The Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Awards showcases the “biggest, best and most notable commercial real estate projects and sales throughout San Diego.” JWDA is honored to receive this year’s Project of the Year for two of its projects.  A complete list of award winners can be found in the October 17 – 23 2022 Edition of SDBJ.

St. Teresa of Calcutta Villa wins Best Affordable Housing Project of the Year. 

This 14-story, 300,000-SF urban infill, transit-oriented, LEED Gold project was co-developed by Father Joe’s Villages and Chelsea Investment Corporation in collaboration with JWDA Architects.  At 407 units, St. Teresa is the largest supportive housing facility in San Diego and will provide a safe and secure home to individuals and families who are transitioning out of homelessness.

 

525 Olive wins Best Multi-Family Project of the Year

This 20-story mixed use tower shares a site with historic St. Paul’s Cathedral and is located directly west of San Diego landmark Balboa Park.  The nearly 300,000-SF development includes 204 residential units of which 18 are designated affordable for low-income residents, with access to a comprehensive amenity package including approximately 30,000-SF of interior and exterior assembly and office space dedicated to support the cathedral’s ministry to the community.  The project is LEED certified.
