Project Information

Located on San Diego’s waterfront, the development at the former Lane Field site moved closer to realization with the approval of the conceptual plan. The design transforms almost six acres of parking lots into a lavishly landscaped retail plaza with restaurants, entertainment, and harbor front accommodations for both day visitors and vacationers. The plan suggests two glowing towers – one a luxury establishment offering 250 suites, the other an InterContinental Hotel offering 550 rooms, both supported by podiums that contain street-level retail and restaurants as well as 1,700 subterranean parking spaces.  The new plan transforms C Street into a pedestrian promenade that opens to the waterfront and preserves the view, welcoming visitors to the brilliant harbor.  In addition, the creation of a 100-foot esplanade is achieved by moving Harbor Drive 70 feet to the east, thus establishing a true waterfront pedestrian park. The plan conforms to the North Embarcadero Visionary Plan, which brings new infrastructure improvements and aesthetic elements to the redevelopment area.
