Lane Field Dual-Branded Hotel Celebrates Opening

JWDA served as Associate Architect with John Portman & Associates for the newly completed Lane Field dual-branded hotel and mixed-use development. JWDA provided architectural services including construction administration for this project.
Located in San Diego’s downtown waterfront, this 400-unit, 19-story Marriott SpringHill Suites and Residence Inn hotel combination is now open to the public. The grand opening celebrates the completion of phase one of the Lane Field Master Development Plan, now known as “BRIC” – in reference to the site’s location at BRoadway and PacifIC.
BRIC Phase One provides 27,000-square-feet of retail space on the ground-level, easily accessible to hotel guests and visitors. At its entirety, the master plan will transform nearly six acres of parking lots into a retail plaza, with restaurants, entertainment, and harbor-front accommodations for both day visitors and vacationers.
