JWDA RETAINED AS ARCHITECT FOR TRANSFORMATIVE UCSD PROJECT

08.2015

gps_logoThe UC San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy (GPS) is rebranding itself on a large scale with a new name, greater ambitions, and a state-of-the-art renovation.

Formerly known as the School of International Relations and Pacific Studies (IR/PS), the first phase of the renovation will include a complete overhaul of the second floor GPS classroom facility, including a new classroom, new “break-out” spaces and the renovation of existing classrooms, lobby space, and student lounge.  Future work will include a renovation of the first floor computer lab and new finishes for the 277-seat Robinson Auditorium.

A strong creative vision, elevated material selection and high-tech features will reinvigorate the GPS campus for all users as well as fortify the school’s reputation as a forward-thinking institution.  JWDA is excited to partner with UCSD on this cutting-edge, transformative project.

Project team members include Joseph Wong, FAIA; Matthew Geaman, AIA, LEED AP; Rodrigo Muñiz, Assoc. AIA, LEED GA; and Catherine Arreaza, Assoc. AIA.
