The 2019 Excellence Awards, sponsored by Multi-Housing News (MHN), honors Broadstone at North Park with GOLD for best new development and design in the mid-rise category. MHN provides national news, information & analysis on the multi-housing industry.
Alliance Residential Company retained JWDA for full architectural services on this market-rate apartment located in the vibrant North Park neighborhood of San Diego. H. Hendy Associates served as the award-winning Interior Designer.
At five stories tall – four stories of Type VA over a single podium Type IA – the design features an eclectic mix of vintage and modern architectural elements. Weathered steel paneling forms the edgy exterior along Texas St, crafting a strong identity of this eye-catching project. The sloping site carves a public plaza at the corner of Texas and Howard, with pockets of lush landscaping and a large gathering space for all to enjoy. Once inside, floor-to-ceiling murals and original artwork captivate the user with bright colors, distinguishing materials and textures.
Each of the 118 units feature a private exterior open-air balcony with shared access to a pool and spa deck, resident lounge, creative lounge/work room, fitness center, community garden, and roof-top terrace. Covered parking is available in a secure garage.
