JWDA receives top award from Student Housing Business Magazine

JWDA had the honor of receiving the 2012 Student Housing Business Innovator Award for The Granada on Hardy, located at 55th & Hardy adjacent to San Diego State University Campus under the category of Best Architecture and Design. The award was given to the best architecture and design used in the construction of a new purpose-built off-campus development.
JWDA provided full architectural and interior design services for the student-housing apartments, completed in August 2011. The Granada on Hardy is a 50-unit 60,000 SF, four story, residential building over a two-level, 40,000 SF subterranean parking structure. The architectural style is a contemporary California Mission style that is compatible with the SDSU campus, yet unique and unlike any other projects in the area. The location provides much needed student housing with great amenities including the clubhouse, landscape courtyards and bicycle facilities. Located virtually on campus, the project provides housing to almost 200 students on a site with humanly scaled open spaces oriented to the community.
