Construction Begins on 137-unit affordable project in San Ysidro

JWDA was retained by Chelsea Investment Corporation on a 137-unit affordable apartment complex in San Ysidro. Construction began in September with a projected completion of late fall 2019. This $43.2 million project is comprised of six three-story buildings at Paseo La Paz. The San Diego Housing Commission and Casa Familiar have partnered with Chelsea and the design team for the successful delivery of this project.
Low-income families and individuals will have access to one-, two-, and three-bedroom units with shared amenities including a 2,000-SF community room, computer room, picnic and BBQ area, and laundry facility. The complex will offer English as a second language, financial literacy, tutoring, and other programs.
