BROADWAY BLOCK EARNS DESIGN REVIEW APPROVAL

12.2015

The Block_Enlarged Rendering01The Broadway Block Mixed-use Development is moving forward as it earned design review approval at Civic San Diego last month.

The full-block, 60,000-SF site is bounded by 7th and 8th Streets, Broadway and C Street and includes 498 units and 19,000-SF of retail in its two towers – 21 and 41 stories, respectively.  The development also provides 962 parking spaces – four levels of subterranean parking and six levels of above-ground lots – and a 27,000-SF amenity deck with pool, landscaping and social space.

The project could dramatically remake the eastern side of downtown’s Broadway corridor.  As stated by Gary Smith, President of the Downtown Resident’s Group:

“This is what a downtown San Diego building should look like – it is dynamic, it takes into consideration the park to the north of it, it takes into consideration that Broadway is our most formal street.”

Broadway Block is one step closer to reality!  A many thanks to the entire team, including Zephyr Partners and the City of San Diego, for their hard work and dedication in making this project happen.
