Broadstone Makers Quarter Received Civic San Diego Approval

11.2014

MQ_01Civic San Diego has approved the first development in the up-and-coming Makers Quarter of downtown’s East Village neighborhood.  JWDA is providing full architectural services for the 269-unit, seven-story project.  This mixed use apartment complex is located on a 50,000- square-foot site, bounded by Broadway and 16th, 17th and E streets.  As part of the larger I.D.E.A. District (Innovation, Design, Education, and Art, respectively), “Makers Quarter is intended to attract people who make things and the Broadstone building will include 5,100 square feet of commercial space where “makers” might operate their businesses.”  Ultimately, Makers Quarter is ideal for those who seek to reside in a self-contained live-work-play district.  The JWDA team is excited to move forward with this flagship development for Makers Quarter.  The 85-foot-tall building will occupy the first several blocks owned by the Jerome’s Furniture Navarra family included in Makers Quarter and is expected to open in 2017.
