Belmont Village Senior Living of La Jolla Tops Out

08.2021

Luxury senior living complex Belmont Village Senior Living of La Jolla Tops Out this month, with an on-track completion slated for summer 2022.  Developed by joint venture team Belmont Village and Greystar, the 209,000-square-foot tower features independent and assisted living for seniors, equipped with high-end services and amenities that are reminiscent of a five-star hotel.

Coined the “Four Seasons for seniors” by Jerry Brand, Greystar Executive Director, the complex has a focus of high-end service and food, and is comprised of 180 units including studios, one & two-bedrooms – with 53 units reserved for independent living, 105 units for assisted living, and 27 units for memory care.  The facility includes a professionally managed fitness center, full service salon and spa, private screening room, bistro for casual dining and full-service dining room (with personal wine storage) and an arts and crafts studio.  Outdoor amenities include a swimming pool, fireplace, reflecting pond, pet relief area, and a multi-use recreational area.  Rents are anticipated to range from $7,000 to $18,000 per month.

The 17-story tower is clad in varying shades of tan pre-cast concrete panel, giving a unique and structured appearance to the building form.  The double-height residential lobby is finished with bronze metal storefront and porcelain tile, with the tile arranged in a stacked pattern to accentuate the geometric language between base and tower.  Rounded balconies that serve the upper-level amenities are placed central to the main façade to complement and soften the tower form and give prominence to public indoor/outdoor spaces.

The JWDA team is led by Joseph O. Wong, FAIA, Richard Rounds, AIA, and Shannon Fu, RA, LEED AP.
