Micro-Units in San Diego

As a big proponent of Urbanism and forward-thinking trends, JWDA is excited to be a part of the design team for The Nook.  There is strong individual, community and city support for developing micro-units in San Diego; and projects like The Nook will soon transform our traditional ideas on urban housing.

The Nook features furnished units, averaging about 250-square-feet – each with their own private bathroom and kitchenette.  Amenities include a community room, gym, and 1,800-SF of retail space along K Street.  The proposed structure is five stories tall – four stories of wood-frame construction over a single-level concrete podium.   Eight parking stalls are provided for the entirety of the project – the limited parking count is intended to promote walkability as well as encourage use of public transit and ride-sharing programs.

Completion is slated for summer 2018.
