May 2022 Travel + Leisure Editors Pick Alila Marea Beach Resort
The Alila Marea Beach Resort debuted in early 2021 on San Diego’s North County coast as the Hyatt brand’s first new-build in the United States. Located in the small beach community of Encinitas, Alila Marea is the perfect laid-back getaway with easy access to local comforts and high-end amenities. Its 130 guestrooms boast coastal and garden views of this magnificent oceanfront site. JWDA Architects worked closely with interior designer Mark Zeff on this noteworthy project.
To make the Editor’s list of the “Best New Hotels in the World”, Travel + Leisure aims to showcase properties that are at the top of their game, adding something new to the hospitality portfolio at large. Alila Marea does just that, with its exceptional location and immersive design that balances between the site’s natural elements and the introduced built form.
