VALLEY VIEW CASINO RECEIVES AGC BUILD SAN DIEGO AWARD

On November 3, The San Diego Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America, Inc. (AGC) presented the awards for the top construction projects at their 2015 Build San Diego Awards banquet. The Valley View Casino & Hotel Extreme Makeover project was honored in the Unique Small Project -Private Work category. Congratulations to the entire team for this win!
The 11-day extreme makeover of the Valley View Casino and Hotel was successful due to the combined efforts of Swinerton Builders, JWDA and the 400-plus personnel working around the clock to complete the renovation on a strict deadline. The fact that the design team was able to complete the makeover in such a short amount of time – a project that would normally take six to eight months – is an incredible feat.
Design work included an expansion and improvements to the existing Buffet area; Six complete restroom remodels; Complete renovation of the VIP Lounge; Enhancements to Player’s Club, Cashier Cage and High Limit areas; Custom-designed Axminster carpet in hotel guest corridors; and new wood flooring in hotel elevator lobbies. Additional improvements included a refresh of paint, finishes, and carpet throughout the main casino and gaming areas, as well as new paint and restriping of the parking garage.
