Project Information

JWDA provided architectural services for Ronald McDonald House Charities for their Ronald McDonald House in San Diego. The new 65,000 square-foot facility offers residential accommodations for 47 families based on Ronald McDonald House Family Home Program, extending the comfort of Ronald McDonald House to the hospital setting. The building consists of a Great Room, Dining Room and main kitchen that enables families an opportunity to interact and work together while small sitting rooms equipped with media centers offer a quiet space to relax. The complex also features classrooms, art rooms, and play rooms as well as a computer lab and basketball court. The central courtyard provides access to private rooms and conveniences.  The San Diego Children’s Ronald McDonald House is located on top of the new Children’s Hospital Parking Facility. JWDA served as architect with Walker Parking Consultants on this 1,000 space, six-story parking structure. The Ronald McDonald House earned the 2009 “Best of California” Overall Top Project by CA Construction.
