Hangzhou, China -- Composed of three 29 story towers, the recently completed Deep Blue Plaza is located on the beautiful waterfront along the Jinhong Canal in Hangzhou, China. Taking inspiration from Hangzhou's reputation as a calm respite from fast-paced Shanghai, the proportions harmonize with the surrounding elements to generate a consistent image along the canal. The Plaza offers two towers with high-end residential arrangements and one Class A office tower as well as several levels of underground parking. The three towers combine to offer over 1,000,000 square-feet of available space. Joseph Wong Design Associates provided full architectural services. Greentown Development Group was the developer.
The residences are buffered from the street noise and movement of the central business district by the generous setback and by the site planning which places all the services in the north of the building allowing each apartment an expansive southern exposure balcony. The buildings use double-glazed high-efficiency windows and high-tech glazing to ensure that heat loads are comfortable throughout the year.
To the south, facing the river, a park-like setting offers street furniture, lighting, rich pavement and classic stonework as well as pathways, which connect to the urban promenade, and green belts to assure that each resident may enjoy the gracious living garnered by the project's proximity to the waterway. The project will be ready for residents in early December.
