San Diego, California --
Located at Commercial Street & 15th Street, the 12-story complex will provide contemporary accommodations for a wide array community services provided by St Vincent de Paul Villages. The ground breaking ceremony marked the beginning of construction of the center, which will be the home of an extensive child development center, staff offices, community rooms, outdoor terrace, classrooms, long-term transitional housing, and affordable housing in addition to below grade parking. The development will greatly improve Father Joe's Villages ability to render aid to the most vulnerable populations within the community. The project aims to achieve GreenPoint Rated status, which ensures that the project is evaluated in five categories (resource conservation, indoor air quality, water conservation, community livability, and energy efficiency) and certified to be a project that meets strict sustainability guidelines.
JWDA is the Architect and Interior Designer for this housing and child development project. Other design team members include AVRP, Burkett & Wong, and Neri Landscape. Roel Construction is the Contractor. Legacy provided Construction Management services. The project will be completed November 2011.
