February 2009 Unique Hotel Indigo to Open Later This Summer in San Diego San Diego, California -- The Hotel Indigo will open its doors in San Diego later this summer. The 12-story hotel, located in the heart of Downtown San Diego, is the second Hotel Indigo to open in California and will be the flagship of the brand on the West Coast. The eco-conscious hotel will offer a restaurant, bar, spa amenities, a business center, and roof top garden. The hotel will be LEED certified, which ensures that the building adheres to the guidelines of accepted 'green building' techniques. Hotel Indigo is owned by InterContinental Hotels Group and each hotel is franchised. The ethos of Hotel Indigo allows each individual hotel to reflect to the local culture and practices of its region. As such the Hotel Indigo San Diego will sport an installation by a local artist on the exterior of the building described as "mimicking the waves and ripples of the Pacific Ocean". Other design elements are inspired by surfing and local flora. The hotel will offer 210 rooms that will bear the unique stamp of San Diego culture and visual delights. Joseph Wong Design Associates provided architectural design and continues to provide architectural services during construction.
